time was of the essence many times today.
i'm an intern, yes, the kind that no one really speaks to or bothers with, so you can expect that the telephone on my desk is pretty much there for display. but a few moments ago when i was looking at it to figure out what the buttons and shortcuts are, it suddenly began to ring. this could be a new Heroes power; using force of mind to will people to call you (most suitable for loners and outcasts).
earlier in the day, my nostalgic pinings came back to bite me in the face; i did get to revisit my much missed holidaying experience, but it was in the form of reliving london underground delays! the blardy mrt service cocked up again this morning and it took me 45min to get from my station to raffles place aka double the time. scores of annoyed worker ants were thus trapped in the carriages in the middle of the tracks with bad ventilation and an overly-enthusiastic voice recording telling us "We apologise for any inconvenience caused". who is this "We" you speak of, and no, i do not want an apology from you, your disembodied voice brethren or the rest of the train parts; your sincere apology does not make me any less late for work! at the subsequent stations we passed through, there wld be occasional announcements saying that "the train might be crowded due to an earlier technical fault". hell yeah i can see, feel and SMELL that the train is crowded... not just that, the driver refused to close the doors for the longest time, thereby further delaying us and further taunting the frustrated people left standing on the platform after they failed to find any available crevice to squeeze themselves into. well done train company; this really justifies your constant fare hikes. i just read that a new bus service 128 will run alongside the train routes come this july 7 so as to ease the morning crunch. on paper it sounds like quite a clever solution, but if technical faults continue to plague us or if the bus comes once in a few blue moons, then there's really no point.
ppffttt... i'd also rant abt how my workload is unevenly spread, abt moratorium and pupillage application, abt not having the time to go jogging after work, abt expensive plane tickets to nearby places, abt waking up early, abt some idiots who pretend they i haven't told them things though i obviously did before, abt getting older next week and more. but i have no more energy to write so much.
